I think you can't get single inputs via zoom expect if you capture / cut out the single picture. (4) Or am I missing some obvious other solution that doesn't cost tens of thousands?Īnd one more question regarding Wirecast: In v13 the video feeds are constantly changing size when their resolution changes, and I've heard that while it's supposed to be fixed in v14, it is still buggy. Is vMix Call better suited in any way to meet my requirements? I haven't worked with vMix yet but have considered making the switch for a while now. Can there even be 15 people waiting in line for a Rendezvous session and I can choose between all of them at any time as long as I don't connect more than 7 at a time? Also I've heard bad things about Rendezvous' overall stability. With Rendezvous I can connect up to seven guests, so I would have to use the short break between panels to reconfigure my screen layouts. Even having all 15 feeds composited as clips in Wirecast will cause them to be transmitted, right? Would it work better locally on a single machine?ĭoes either vMix or Wirecast support NDI|HX, the h.264 compressed variant? Up to 15 guests in the call won't be a problem, but sending out 15 NDI streams will be, even locally (1 Gbit network). I send discrete video feeds (5 at a time) to my other machine where I compose them in Wirecast (or maybe vMix). I have considered three options:Ī dedicated machine hosts a Teams call where everybody calls in. But I still struggle with managing 3x5 remote calls. I am connected to a network with 20 Gbit up and downstream, so that's sorted. I've worked with Skype, Teams and NDI before but never more than 2 per session. I have enough experience with live streaming (Wirecast) but little with video calls. I was prepping a production with 3 panel sessions with 5 guests each when the second lockdown hit (I'm in Germany), so this has now become a virtual production with only two hosts on set and all guests calling in remotely.
